Market Notes

Compared to last week. feeder steers 700 lb to 900 lb sold 3.00 to 6.00 higher, however 66 steers weighing 780 lb sold for 208 which would be 15 higher. Feeder steers 900 lb to 1,000 lb sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Steer calves 400 lb to 700 lb sold 8.00 to 10.00 higher. Heifers 500 lb to 900 lb sold 4.00 to 7.00 higher. Not enough heifer calves 400 lb to 500 lb for a market test, however a higher trend was noted. Demand was good. Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady.

Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (52% Steers, 46% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 13% Slaughter Cattle (93% Cows, 7% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (30% Stock Cows, 70% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 74%.
