Market Notes

Compared to last week, not enough feeder steers 700 lb to 900 lb for a market test, however a lower trend was noted. Steers 575 lb to 700 lb sold steady, however 53 fancy steers weighing 603 lb sold for 193.25. Steer calves 400 lb to 575 lb sold 6.00 to 10.00 higher. Not enough feeder heifers 550 lb to 900 lb for a market test, however a lower trend was noted. Heifer calves 400 lb to 550 lb sold steady to 5.00 higher. Demand was moderate. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower.

Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (53% Steers, 47% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 21% Slaughter Cattle (95% Cows, 5% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (23% Stock Cows, 77% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 56%.
