Market Notes

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers were mostly 2.00 to 6.00 lower. Trade was fairly active on moderate to good demand. CME cattle futures struggled this week, closing in the red. Much needed moisture was a welcomed sight in the area, despite the cold front it brought along with it.

Supply included: 82% Feeder Cattle (61% Steers, 36% Heifers, 2% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (91% Cows, 9% Bulls); 8% Replacement Cattle (33% Stock Cows, 16% Bred Cows, 51% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 75%.
