Market Notes

Compared to last week steer and heifer calves and yearlings steady. Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Stock cows and pairs slightly lower. Trading and demand moderate. Baby calves are included in the report due to the large number that were split off cows due to the continuing dry weather and poor pasture conditions.

Supply included: 69% Feeder Cattle (51% Steers, 46% Heifers, 3% Bulls); 20% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 11% Replacement Cattle (69% Stock Cows, 17% Bred Cows, 14% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 9%.
