Yeah, I went cheap on the gun, I won't make that mistake again.

They are great if you just have a few head to do. I've had mine for 3 years and it's working great. I also have a metal and glass one that is 30 yrs old and looks like new. You get what you pay for.

Mine did not last that long.
Ron Mayercommented 2/1/2011 10:19:10 PM
Did that once too. Think Alflex Blue Gun!

That's actually what our other gun is. We used to keep track of which was wormer and which was costridial that way.

Well, at least for the two hours the Ideal Instruments gun worked.

Bought one also. It lasted about 20 cows. It broke took it back got another. It lasted about 35 cows. It broke also. Gave up on that brand.

Jeff, A buddy of mine had one break on the first cow. He called and complained and they mailed him a brand new metal one at no cost. It's worth a try.
Jeffcommented 2/2/2011 3:04:39 PM
Only if they'll send me an Allflex brand gun.
Jeanninecommented 4/17/2011 10:23:04 PM
Bought 2 of these over the winter, used them today for the first time, they each broke on the first cow. Crap.

I bought a new blue plastic ideal 50cc gun last year.....the first time we used it we vaccinated about 40 head of calves , worked fine.....the next time I used it was to give a cow a shot it broke just like the one in the picture above....what will Ideal do to make this right ?
