Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 550 lbs sold with a firm to higher undertone and heavier weights sold steady to 3.00 lower. Demand was very good for calves to graze and moderate for cattle over 600 lbs or those carrying flesh. Supply was moderate. Slaughter cows sold uneven as the fleshier breaking cows sold steady and lean and boning cows sold 3.00-6.00 higher. Some of the higher dressing boning cows sold sharply higher.
Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 42% Heifers, 10% Bulls); 11% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 38%.
