Market Notes

Compared to last week, based on a light test, calves and yearlings sold steady to 5.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for a light to moderate supply. Several negative are factors working against the market this week including poor weather conditions, large numbers of cattle moving the last few weeks and a lower board but the local cash feeder market held up pretty well. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly 2.005.00 higher except for the leaner cows selling steady.

Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 45% Heifers, 9% Bulls); 14% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (63% Stock Cows, 38% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 42%.
