Market Notes

Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady except for steer calves under 450 lbs seeing an uptick in demand and selling with a higher undertone. Supply was moderate with nearly all calves offered and overall the quality was good. Several consignments came in off the cow with just a few truly weaned cattle but most of the calves had at least had 1 round of shots. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady.

Supply included: 85% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 37% Heifers, 13% Bulls); 12% Slaughter Cattle (82% Cows, 18% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 24%.
