Market Notes

Compared to last week, a lighter run of steers and heifers sold mostly steady. Supply was moderate to light following a couple weeks of heavy receipts and the extreme cold discouraged some movement of cattle. However, a few reputation consignments of long weaned cattle were offered and found good demand. Slaughter cows sold steady to firm.

Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 49% Heifers, 1% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Cattle (96% Cows, 4% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (67% Stock Cows, 33% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 61%.
