Market Notes

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold mixed with prices ranging 3.00 lower to 4.00 higher. Feeder heifers and bulls were mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Yearlings were mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good to very good for a good quality offering with best interest for weaned packages. Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady to 3.00 lower with good demand. Most Monday markets were closed for Memorial Day this week affecting the comparable receipt totals.

Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (36% Steers, 3% Dairy Steers, 47% Heifers, 14% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers); 19% Slaughter Cattle (0% Steers, 0% Heifers, 87% Cows, 13% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (6% Stock Cows, 54% Bred Cows, 5% Bred Heifers, 29% Cow-Calf Pairs, 6% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 49%.
