Market Notes

Compared to last week feeder steers were steady up 3.00-4.00, feeder heifers were unevenly steady. Feeders had good buyer demand for all classes and for weaned packages. Slaughter cows were up 4.00-5.00 with great buyer demand, slaughter bulls were down 1.00-2.00 and had lower receipts.

Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (63% Steers, 32% Heifers, 5% Bulls); 10% Slaughter Cattle (1% Steers, 78% Cows, 21% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (33% Bred Cows, 39% Bred Heifers, 22% Cow-Calf Pairs, 6% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 58%.
