Market Notes
Compared to last week feeder steers sold steadily sharp 4-5 higher, with higher demand for light weight steers. Feeder heifers were steady, with good buyer demand for 300-500lbs heifers. Slaughter cows sharply higher 10-12, with great buyer demand. Slaughter bulls were steadily up. Strong market today across the board today for lower receipts and weather.
Supply included: 75% Feeder Cattle (45% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 45% Heifers, 8% Bulls); 17% Slaughter Cattle (2% Heifers, 86% Cows, 12% Bulls); 8% Replacement Cattle (22% Bred Cows, 58% Bred Heifers, 16% Cow-Calf Pairs, 4% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 47%.
