Market Notes

Compared to last week feeder steers sold steady to 3.00 higher, except for 600 lb steers which sold 5.00 to 7.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 lower and feeder heifers over 500 lbs sold mostly steady. There was good to moderate demand for feeder classes. Strongest demand noted for weaned and pre-conditioned feeder classes. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00 to 3.00 lower. There was moderate demand for slaughter classes.

Supply included: 93% Feeder Cattle (47% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 38% Heifers, 14% Bulls); 6% Slaughter Cattle (75% Cows, 25% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (75% Bred Cows, 25% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 64%. Groups of 20 head or more: Steers: Heifers: 131 hd 768 lbs., 174.50 BLK/CHARX-Few Red. 21 hd 617 lbs., 151.00 BLK 73 hd 676 lbs., 159.75 BLK/Few Red.
