Market Notes

Compared to last week, boning type slaughter cows were 2.00 to 3.00 lower, while slaughter bulls were 2.00 higher; there were too few comparable breaking type slaughter cows to establish an adequate market comparison. There were also too few comparable feeder steers to establish an adequate market comparison; feeder heifers were 1.00 to 7.00 higher on a very light test; and feeder bulls were sharply higher. Demand was good; market activity and buyer interest were active. Offerings of cattle were light. Cattle quality was mostly attractive.

Supply included: 81% Feeder Cattle (16% Steers, 43% Heifers, 40% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers); 19% Slaughter Cattle (73% Cows, 27% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 23%.
