Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Feeder cattle were mostly steady. Demand was good; market activity and buyer interest were active. Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate. Cattle quality was average to attractive. Baby calves ranged 20.00 to 130.00 per head; "by the head" calves were 200.00 to 450.00 per head.

Supply included: 66% Feeder Cattle (30% Steers, 50% Heifers, 20% Bulls); 16% Slaughter Cattle (2% Steers, 76% Cows, 22% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (58% Bred Cows, 42% Cow-Calf Pairs); 1% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (100% Hair Bucks); 13% Slaughter Goats (88% Kids, 8% Bucks/Billies, 5% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 25%.
