Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were 2.00 to 4.00 lower, while slaughter bulls were steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder steers and bulls were sharply lower, while feeder heifers were mostly 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Demand was light to moderate; market activity and buyer interest were slow to moderate. Offerings of cattle were fairly light. Cattle quality was plain to average.

Supply included: 76% Feeder Cattle (16% Steers, 38% Heifers, 43% Bulls, 3% Dairy Heifers); 20% Slaughter Cattle (89% Cows, 11% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (41% Bred Cows, 59% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28%.
