Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady to 1.5 lower. Feeder steers and bulls were mostly 1.00 to 5.00 higher while heifers were mixed. Demand was moderate to good; market activity and buyer interest were moderate to good. Offerings of cattle were moderate. Cattle quality was average.
Supply included: 75% Feeder Cattle (38% Steers, 42% Heifers, 20% Bulls); 20% Slaughter Cattle (90% Cows, 10% Bulls); 5% Replacement Cattle (84% Bred Cows, 13% Cow-Calf Pairs, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 36%.
