Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Feeder steers were unevenly steady; heifers were mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower; and feeder bulls were mostly 2.00 to 6.00 lower. Demand, market activity, and buyer interest were mostly moderate. Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate to fairly heavy. Cattle quality was plain to average. Baby calves ranged 5.00 to 110.00 per head; "by the head" calves were 160.00.
Supply included: 73% Feeder Cattle (30% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 39% Heifers, 29% Bulls, 1% Dairy Heifers); 14% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (2% Stock Cows, 50% Bred Cows, 1% Bred Heifers, 45% Cow-Calf Pairs, 1% Bulls); 4% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (59% Hair Breeds, 22% Ewes, 11% Hair Ewes, 5% Bucks, 3% Hair Bucks); 8% Slaughter Goats (60% Kids, 25% Nannies/Does, 13% Bucks/Billies, 2% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 25%.
