Compared to two weeks ago, breaking type slaughter cows were steady to 1.00 higher, while boning type slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady to 1.00 lower. Feeder steers were mostly steady to 6.00 lower; heifers were 2.00 to 5.00 lower, mostly 2.00 to 3.00 lower; and feeder bulls were mostly 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand, market activity, and buyer interest were mostly moderate. Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate. Cattle quality was average to attractive. Baby calves ranged 10.00 to 80.00 per head; "by the head" calves were 95.00 to 360.00.
Supply included: 69% Feeder Cattle (26% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 39% Heifers, 34% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers); 19% Slaughter Cattle (87% Cows, 13% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (58% Bred Cows, 41% Cow-Calf Pairs, 1% Bulls); 3% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (1% Shorn, 78% Hair Breeds, 19% Ewes, 2% Bucks); 7% Slaughter Goats (60% Kids, 28% Nannies/Does, 9% Bucks/Billies, 3% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 18%.
