Compared to last week, boning type slaughter cows were steady to 1.00 lower, while breaking type slaughter cows were 2.00 to 3.00 higher and slaughter bulls were steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder cattle were mixed, 7.00 lower to 4.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good; market activity and buyer interest were moderate to active. Offerings of cattle were varied with heavier offerings early in the week and lighter offerings later in the week as severe thunderstorms threatened most of the state. Cattle quality varied, plain to attractive. Baby calves ranged 25.00 to 90.00 per head.
Supply included: 71% Feeder Cattle (29% Steers, 0% Dairy Steers, 47% Heifers, 23% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers); 13% Slaughter Cattle (85% Cows, 15% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (1% Stock Cows, 55% Bred Cows, 44% Cow-Calf Pairs); 4% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (0% Shorn, 66% Hair Breeds, 5% Ewes, 21% Hair Ewes, 3% Bucks, 4% Hair Bucks); 1% Replacement Sheep/Lambs (100% Families); 8% Slaughter Goats (59% Kids, 16% Nannies/Does, 23% Bucks/Billies, 2% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 19%.
