Compared to last week, boning type slaughter cows were steady to 1.00 lower, while breaking type were 1.00 to 2.00 higher and bulls 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Feeder cattle were lightly tested, steers were mostly steady to 2.00 higher; four-weight heifers were 2.00 to 5.00 lower, while five-weights were 1.00 to 3.00 higher and six-weights were not tested; four- and five-weight feeder bulls were 2.00 to 3.00 lower some as much as 9.00 lower, while six-weights were 15.00 to 16.00 higher. Demand was light ot moderate; market activity and buyer interest were slow to moderate. Offerings of cattle were very light to light due to continued cold, wet, inclement winter weather. Cattle quality was plain to average. Baby calves ranged 10.00 to 40.00 per head.
Supply included: 35% Feeder Cattle (26% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 42% Heifers, 29% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers); 32% Slaughter Cattle (89% Cows, 11% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (81% Bred Cows, 17% Cow-Calf Pairs, 2% Bulls); 9% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (32% Hair Breeds, 9% Ewes, 49% Hair Ewes, 3% Bucks, 7% Hair Bucks); 2% Replacement Sheep/Lambs (100% Families); 18% Slaughter Goats (53% Kids, 24% Nannies/Does, 19% Bucks/Billies, 3% Wethers); 0% Replacement Goats (100% Families). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 21%.
