Compared to last week, slaughter cows were 2.00 to 3.00 higher, while bulls were mostly steady. Feeder steers and bulls were mostly 1.00 to 3.00 higher, while heifers were mostly 1.00 to 4.00higher. Demand was moderate; market activity and buyer interest were moderate. Offerings of cattle were moderate. Cattle quality was average to attractive.
Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (29% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 41% Heifers, 29% Bulls); 18% Slaughter Cattle (83% Cows, 17% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (19% Stock Cows, 31% Bred Cows, 50% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 15%.
