Market Notes

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were steady to 3.00 lower. There were too few comparable feeder cattle to establish an adequate market comparison, however, a higher undertone was noted. Demand was moderate; market activity and buyer interest were moderate. Offerings of cattle were light. Cattle quality was average.

Supply included: 52% Feeder Cattle (15% Steers, 63% Heifers, 22% Bulls); 38% Slaughter Cattle (97% Cows, 3% Bulls); 10% Replacement Cattle (20% Stock Cows, 60% Bred Cows, 20% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 14%.
