Compared to last week, boning type slaughter cows were steady to 1.00 lower, while breaking type slaughter cows were 3.00 to 4.00 higher and slaughter bulls were 5.00 to 6.00 higher. Feeder steers and bulls were mostly 6.00 to 8.00 higher and heifers were mostly 14.00 to 16.00 higher. Demand was good; market activity and buyer interest were active. Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate. Cattle quality was average to attractive.
Supply included: 60% Feeder Cattle (38% Steers, 0% Dairy Steers, 43% Heifers, 18% Bulls); 17% Slaughter Cattle (86% Cows, 14% Bulls); 3% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (77% Hair Breeds, 5% Ewes, 18% Bucks); 20% Slaughter Goats (55% Kids, 19% Nannies/Does, 18% Bucks/Billies, 7% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 17%.
