Compared to last week, boning type slaughter cows were 2.00 to 3.00 lower, while slaughter bulls were 2.00 to 3.00 higher; there were too few breaking type slaughter cows to establish an adequate market comparison. Feeder steers were mostly 5.00 to 6.00 higher with some 12.00 to 13.00 higher; feeder heifers were sharply higher; and feeder bulls were mostly 16.00 to 17.00 higher. Demand was good; market activity and buyer interest were active. Offerings of cattle were mostly moderate. Cattle quality was average. Baby calves ranged 25.00 to 95.00 per head; "by the head" calves (65 head) were 100.00 to 205.00.
Supply included: 64% Feeder Cattle (37% Steers, 44% Heifers, 20% Bulls); 21% Slaughter Cattle (90% Cows, 10% Bulls); 0% Replacement Cattle (100% Cow-Calf Pairs); 2% Slaughter Sheep/Lambs (70% Hair Breeds, 10% Ewes, 20% Bucks); 12% Slaughter Goats (48% Kids, 34% Nannies/Does, 14% Bucks/Billies, 4% Wethers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 16%.
