Market Notes

Compared to last week; Steer calves under 500 lbs. 8.00 lower, over 500 lbs. 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifer calves 4.00 to 7.00 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes except for steer calves 500 lbs. and above, for those the demand was good. Quality was plain through attractive. Slaughter cows, leans and boners 1.00 to 7.00 higher, breakers 1.00 lower. Slaughter bulls 5.00 lower. A total of 345 cows and bulls sold with 70 percent going to packers.

Supply included: 80% Feeder Cattle (39% Steers, 39% Heifers, 22% Bulls); 15% Slaughter Cattle (90% Cows, 10% Bulls); 5% Replacement Cattle (82% Bred Cows, 18% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 23%.
