Compared to last week: steers 550 to 600 lbs mostly steady, 601 to 750 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 lower, 751 to 800 lbs steady to 3.00 higher with instances up to 7.00 higher, 801 to 850 lbs mostly steady. Heifers 500 to 600 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower, 601 to 650 lbs mostly steady, 651 to 750 lbs 3.00 to 7.00 higher. Yearling cattle not well compared. Good to very good demand for this large offering featuring many packages and loads of both home raised and backgrounded calves and a handful of loads and packages of yearlings, mostly heifers. Less flesh than last week, especially on big cattle, and lots of grass types to choose from today. Quality varied, more attractive quality overall than last week. A few less colored cattle this week. An active market seen for this offering. Cold weather will return next week, some areas farther south could see more snow. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, February 1.
