Compared to last week: yearling steers and heifers not well compared this week. Best test on steer calves 500 to 600 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 lower, 601 to 650 lbs steady to 1.00 lower. Best test on heifer calves 450 to 500 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 lower, 501 to 600 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower with instances up to 15.00 lower on 550 to 600 lbs. Moderate to good demand for yearlings. A light yearling offering today compared to recent weeks with most of the cattle coming out of yards, more flesh condition overall than last week. Quality varied again this week, from plain to attractive. Moderate to good demand for calves today. Quite a few loads and many packages of calves offered. Flesh varied, from light to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. Preconditioning similar to last week with most calves having full preconditioning. A few weaned packages offered, weaned from 35 days and up. A moderate market for this offering with the incoming winter weather putting pressure on the market, especially the demand for bawling calves. Blizzard conditions expected with varying amounts of accumulated snowfall. Travel expected to be impacted Thursday and Friday. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 16.
