Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 950 lbs and heifers 900 to 950 lbs mostly steady with other weight classes of steers and heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for today's offering which consisted mostly of loads and packages. Cattle both off grass and out of yards with flesh more varied this week, from light to some heavy at times. Quality similar to last week, from average to attractive. Several packages of tested open heifers offered today as producers are starting to ultrasound. An active market again this week, especially on light fleshed grass cattle. Its getting dry across the area, most places could use some moisture. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, August 31.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (43% Steers, 57% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 99%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 8/17/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,410 2,432 3,269 Feeder Cattle: 1,410(100.0%) 2,432(100.0%) 3,269(100.0%)
