Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 900 lbs mostly steady, 901 to 1000 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Best test on heifers 800 to 850 lbs and 900 to 950 lbs mostly steady. Another large offering of strings, loads, and packages of home raised and backgrounded cattle this week. Moderate to good demand for feeding type cattle, very good demand for grass types. Similar to recent weeks there was varied flesh condition today, from light to some heavy at times. Quality mostly average to attractive. Less tag on the cattle this week as the weather has been sunny and warm and lots are starting to dry out. An active market for this offering. Fields have dried out some this week and farmers are scrambling to get crops in. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 25.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (66% Steers, 34% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 93%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 5/11/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 4,957 4,113 5,229 Feeder Cattle: 4,957(100.0%) 4,113(100.0%) 5,229(100.0%)
