Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 950 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, 1000 to 1050 lbs mostly steady. Best test on heifers 700 to 800 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for today's large offering with best demand seen for cattle fitting grass programs. Several strings and many loads and packages of both backgrounded and home raised cattle offered. Quality on packages varied quite a bit, from plain to attractive, mostly average to attractive on loads. Flesh condition ranged from light to some heavy flesh, less flesh overall than last week. Cattle carry tag again this week as the rain has kept coming and yards remain muddy. An active market seen for this offering. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 18.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (41% Steers, 59% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 92%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 5/4/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 4,113 3,085 6,863 Feeder Cattle: 4,113(100.0%) 3,085(100.0%) 6,863(100.0%)
