Market Notes

Compared to two weeks ago: steers under 650 lbs not well compared, 650 to 900 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower, lower undertones noted on steers over 900 lbs. Best test on heifers 600 to 700 lbs 8.00 to 12.00 lower, 701 to 850 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Good to very good demand for today's large offering of attractive quality cattle. A few consignments of backgrounded cattle offered but the majority of the cattle were home raised, many selling in load lots. Flesh varied, from moderate to heavy. Cattle suitable for grass continue to see very good demand, these are getting harder to come by each week. Some tag on the cattle today as the weather has warmed up this week enough to thaw and make pens sloppy. An active market seen for the offering. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, March 9, expecting around 8500 head again.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (52% Steers, 48% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 93%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 2/23/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 8,556 8,150 7,518 Feeder Cattle: 8,556(100.0%) 8,150(100.0%) 7,518(100.0%)
