Market Notes

Compared to last week: steers 550 to 700 lbs 1.00 to 3.00 higher, 701 to 850 lbs mostly steady. Heifers 550 to 700 lbs mostly steady, 701 to 750 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Another large offering this week featuring many packages and loads of mostly home raised steers and heifers. Cattle suitable for grass programs saw very good demand again this week, feeding type cattle saw good to very good demand as well, mostly depending on flesh condition. Flesh and quality very similar to last week, mostly average to attractive quality and varied flesh, from light to some heavy. An active market seen for the offering. Some cattle coming to town earlier than they normally would due to tighter feed supplies. A very cold day today with wind chills well below zero. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, January 26.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (64% Steers, 36% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 78%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 1/12/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 6,866 6,136 4,902 Feeder Cattle: 6,866(100.0%) 6,136(100.0%) 4,902(100.0%)
