Market Notes

Compared to last week: steers not well compared. Best test on heifers 850 to 950 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Good to very good demand for today's yearling offering with best demand seen for cattle off grass. Flesh varied, but mostly light to moderate plus. Quality more attractive overall than last week. Lots of tested open heifers off grass in the offering again this week. A few consignments of spring calves offered today and met with moderate to good demand. Quite a few were weaned, from 30 to 45 days, and most had at least one round of shots. An active market today with both buyers and farmer feeders in the seats, the latter interested in the calves. The recent rains in the area have really greened things up and enabled producers to leave cattle on grass longer than earlier expected. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 22.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (58% Steers, 42% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 83%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 9/8/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 3,118 1,513 3,602 Feeder Cattle: 3,118(100.0%) 1,513(100.0%) 3,602(100.0%)
