Market Notes

Compared to last week: best test on steers 800 to 850 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, 851 to 900 lbs steady to 1.00 higher. Best test on heifers 800 to 850 lbs steady to 1.00 higher, 851 to 900 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Good to very good demand for another large offering today which sold on an active market. Many loads and several strings offered again this week as well as many packages. Flesh varied quite a bit today, from light to moderate plus, as cattle are coming off grass and out of yards. Quality mostly attractive overall. Several consignments off grass, most of these are producer's replacement heifers coming to town to conserve grass for the cow herd. Grass conditions have worsened this week with no rain falling and hot temperatures continuing. Producers are haying out all the low spots and wherever they can, struggling to get feed together. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, June 30.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (60% Steers, 40% Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 93%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 6/16/2021 Last Year Total Receipts: 4,436 3,924 2,096 Feeder Cattle: 4,436(100.0%) 3,924(100.0%) 2,096(100.0%)
