Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 4 Colorado auction markets included: Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock, and Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand were moderate to good in the southern markets and good in the northern markets of the state. Feeder steers under 500 lbs were lightly tested at 4.00 to 10.00 lower, 500-700 lbs sold mostly 2.00 to 6.00 higher, 700-850 lbs 4.00 to 9.00 higher, and steers over 850 lbs lightly tested mostly 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 500 lbs sold 2.00 to 7.00 lower, 500-600 lbs 2.00 to 7.00 higher, and over 600 lbs 9.00 to 15.00 higher. Dairy heifers 1100-1250 lbs sold 6.00 higher. Average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher.Supply included: 52% Feeder Cattle (42% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 49% Heifers, 3% Bulls, 5% Dairy Heifers); 21% Slaughter Cattle (87% Cows, 13% Bulls); 27% Replacement Cattle (3% Stock Cows, 58% Bred Cows, 1% Bred Heifers, 37% Cow-Calf Pairs, 2% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 49%.
