Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 5 Colorado auction markets included: Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock, Centennial Livestock, and Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand moderate to good. Feeder steers under 400 lbs sold sharply higher on light trades, 400-600 lbs sold 4.00 to 8.00 higher, 600-750 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher, and offerings were light on steers weighing over 750 lbs trading mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 400 lbs were 6.00 to 10.00 higher on light offerings, 400-750 lbs mostly 3.00 lower, 750-900 lbs mostly 5.00 to 8.00 lower, and trade mixed on heifers over 900 lbs. Feeder dairy heifers over 900 lbs sold unevenly steady on light offerings. Bred cow offerings were mostly in the 1st and 2nd trimester. The next available report will be Monday, November 14, 2022.
Supply included: 75% Feeder Cattle (58% Steers, 40% Heifers, 1% Bulls, 1% Dairy Heifers); 20% Slaughter Cattle (97% Cows, 3% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers); 6% Replacement Cattle (9% Stock Cows, 90% Bred Cows, 2% Bred Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 47%.
