Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 4 Colorado auction markets included: Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock and Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand moderate to very good. Feeder steer trade mixed across all weight classes. Feeder heifers 400-600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 lower with instances of sharply lower, and heifers over 600 lbs were mostly 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Feeder dairy heifers sold unevenly steady on a light test. Average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold unevenly steady. The next available report will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Supply included: 83% Feeder Cattle (61% Steers, 36% Heifers, 3% Dairy Heifers); 17% Slaughter Cattle (0% Heifers, 92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 0% Replacement Cattle (76% Bred Cows, 15% Bred Heifers, 9% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 55%.
