Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 1 Colorado auction market included: Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand moderate. Feeder steers and heifers too thinly traded for a trend. Feeder dairy heifers crossed with Angus weighing 1000 lbs and up sold mostly 2.00 to 3.00 higher with instances of 5.00 higher. Average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Colorado auction markets will soon transition out of their combined summer sale schedules and resume their feeder cattle auctions in September as cattlemen are running out of grass. The next available report will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 due to the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

Supply included: 28% Feeder Cattle (5% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 20% Heifers, 73% Dairy Heifers); 70% Slaughter Cattle (0% Heifers, 87% Cows, 10% Bulls, 3% Dairy Heifers); 2% Replacement Cattle (50% Stock Cows, 17% Bred Cows, 33% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 87%.
