Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 2 Colorado auctions included Livestock Exchange and Centennial Livestock. Trade activity and demand good on steers and heifers, very good on slaughter cows and bulls. Feeder steers an heifers too lightly tested from the prior week for an accurate trend. Baby calves 170-245 lbs sold for $425.00-$550.00 per head, 100-160 lbs $160.00-$250.00 per head, and under 100 lbs $110.00-$160.00. Feeder dairy heifers over 900 lbs sold 1.00 to 7.00 higher. Average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Compared to last month's dairy feeder cattle auction, trade activity and demand moderate to good as dairy feeder steers sold firm, mostly 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Dairy feeder heifers under 650 lbs sold mostly 15.00 to 30.00 higher. The next available report will be Monday, June 20, 2022.
Supply included: 77% Feeder Cattle (9% Steers, 53% Dairy Steers, 13% Heifers, 24% Dairy Heifers); 21% Slaughter Cattle (94% Cows, 6% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (35% Stock Cows, 3% Bred Cows, 63% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 39%.
