Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 3 Colorado auction markets included: Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, and Livestock Exchange. Demand ranged from moderate to good. Feeder steers weighing 500-550 and 600-700 lbs sold firm on a light test. All other weight classes too lightly tested. Feeder heifers 400-600 lbs sold mostly 3.00 to 6.00 lower; 650-750 lbs sold unevenly, from 4.00 lower to 4.00 higher; all other weight classes too lightly tested. Feeder dairy heifers over 900 lbs sold mostly steady to 2.00 lower and average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 4.00 lower. The next available report will be Monday, May 9, 2022.

Supply included: 63% Feeder Cattle (26% Steers, 54% Heifers, 3% Bulls, 17% Dairy Heifers); 33% Slaughter Cattle (91% Cows, 9% Bulls); 4% Replacement Cattle (41% Stock Cows, 17% Bred Cows, 1% Bred Heifers, 38% Cow-Calf Pairs, 4% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 62%.
