Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 5 Colorado auction markets included: Centennial Livestock, Winter Livestock, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock, and Livestock Exchange. Trade activity and demand moderate to good. Feeder steers under 600 lbs sold 3.00 to 7.00 lower, 600-700 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower, and over 700 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs sold mostly 2.00 to 4.00 lower, 600-750 lbs 3.00 to 8.00 higher, and over 750 lbs lightly tested at 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Dairy feeder heifers were lightly tested with 950-1100 lb heifers selling 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Average dressing slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower this week. The next available report will be Monday, April 18, 2022.
Supply included: 88% Feeder Cattle (38% Steers, 18% Dairy Steers, 35% Heifers, 9% Dairy Heifers); 10% Slaughter Cattle (88% Cows, 12% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers); 1% Replacement Cattle (22% Stock Cows, 29% Bred Cows, 13% CowCalf Pairs, 36% Heifer Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 37%.
