Market Notes

Compared to last week: Trade activity were good to very good. Slaughter cows traded 1.00 to 3.00 higher, while slaughter bulls traded 10.00 higher. Feeding cows traded 3.00 to 6.50 higher and dairy heifers were steady to 3.00 higher. Bred cows traded sharply higher. This week's run included a lot of heavy fed cows along with a bred cow special with the majority being late second trimester to third trimester. The next available report will be Thursday, February 3, 2022.

Supply included: 18% Feeder Cattle (13% Heifers, 87% Dairy Heifers); 59% Slaughter Cattle (94% Cows, 6% Bulls); 22% Replacement Cattle (24% Stock Cows, 56% Bred Cows, 12% Bred Heifers, 8% Cow-Calf Pairs). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 87%.
