Market Notes

Compared to last week's heavy supply of calves, Monday's light offerings of 400 to 550 lbs steers sold steady to 5.00 lower and heifers weighing the same sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Not enough yearlings for a market comparison. Tri State livestock held this special holiday sale because of the extreme drought in the trade area. Pasture conditions are very dry and grass is short so cattlemen have to sell calves weeks earlier than normal. Bulk of the bawling calves sold with springtime shots with some having fall vaccinations. Over 500 head of slaughter cows and bulls on Monday's market.

Supply included: 100% Feeder Cattle (50% Steers, 48% Heifers, 2% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 28%. AUCTION This Week Last Reported 8/29/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 1,145 3,520 0 Feeder Cattle: 1,145(100.0%) 3,520(100.0%) 0(0.0%)
