Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers were 3.00 higher with a good offering of steers and heifers and better packer inquiry this week. Holstein slaughter steers were steady today. Cows were unevenly steady to higher with a good offering of cows and active buyer participation with bulls 1.00 higher today. Feeder steers were trending lower with feeder heifers significantly lower and feeder bulls 2.00 to 8.00 higher this week.
Supply included: 21% Feeder Cattle (33% Steers, 37% Heifers, 30% Bulls); 79% Slaughter Cattle (33% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 32% Heifers, 28% Cows, 3% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 32%.
