Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers had instances of higher/lower with a packer need and premium on higher quality steers and heifers. Holstein slaughter steers were trending higher. Cows were trending lower with a good offering of cows and bulls today and bulls were 1.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder steers and bulls were trending lower with feeder heifers unevenly steady.
Supply included: 15% Feeder Cattle (8% Steers, 59% Heifers, 33% Bulls); 85% Slaughter Cattle (21% Steers, 2% Dairy Steers, 45% Heifers, 26% Cows, 5% Bulls, 0% Dairy Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 25%.
