Compared to last week slaughter steers and heifers had Prime steers and heifers 2.00 to 3.00 higher with choice steers and heifers trending lower and a good offering of high quality steers and heifers. Holstein slaughter steers were 1.00 lower today. Cows were 1.00 to 2.00 higher with bulls 7.00 higher. Feeder steers were mostly steady with feeder heifers and bulls trending lower but better value on value added feeders.
Supply included: 22% Feeder Cattle (22% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 41% Heifers, 35% Bulls); 77% Slaughter Cattle (32% Steers, 9% Dairy Steers, 33% Heifers, 20% Cows, 6% Bulls, 0% Bullocks); 1% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 54%.
