Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 1.00 to 4.00 higher with slaughter heifers 1.00 to 3.00 higher with some good higher quality steers and heifers. Holstein slaughter steers trending higher today. Cows were 1.00 higher and bulls trending lower. Feeder steers and feeder bulls mostly steady with feeder heifers sharply higher this week.
Supply included: 17% Feeder Cattle (27% Steers, 61% Heifers, 12% Bulls); 81% Slaughter Cattle (48% Steers, 4% Dairy Steers, 41% Heifers, 5% Cows, 2% Bulls); 2% Replacement Cattle (100% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 46%.
