Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 3.00 to 7.00 higher and slaughter heifers 3.00 to 8.00 higher with higher packer inquiry and a good offering of higher quality slaughter cattle. Holstein slaughter cattle were 4.00 higher today. Cows were 1.00 higher and bulls trending higher. Feeder steers were trending higher with feeder heifers sharply higher and feeder bulls also trending higher.
Supply included: 14% Feeder Cattle (28% Steers, 50% Heifers, 23% Bulls); 86% Slaughter Cattle (41% Steers, 4% Dairy Steers, 35% Heifers, 18% Cows, 1% Bulls, 1% Dairy Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 70%.
