Compared to last week, slaughter steers were 3.00 lower with slaughter heifers instances of higher/lower with lower packer inquiry this week. Holstein slaughter were also had instances of higher/lower. Cows were 1.00 to 3.00 lower with a good offering today and bulls 3.00 higher. Feeder steers were sharply higher with some good value steers and feeder heifers 2.00 to 3.00 higher and feeder bulls trending lower.
Supply included: 15% Feeder Cattle (40% Steers, 23% Heifers, 37% Bulls); 85% Slaughter Cattle (33% Steers, 5% Dairy Steers, 25% Heifers, 30% Cows, 5% Bulls, 2% Dairy Heifers). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 51%.
